Sandblasted
or
“etch
effect”
glass
is
achieved
through
a
special
process
on
our
in
house
ceramic
digital
printer.
A
specially
designed
algorithm
places
small
dots
of
white
ink
in
a
style
that
replicates the satin, silvery finish found on sandblasted glass.
The
advantage
of
this
method
over
traditional
sandblasting
is
that
you
have
more
control
and
are
able
to
have
multiple
levels
of
opacity
on
one
design
as
well
as
produce
images
rather
than
just
vector
shapes
into
works
of
sandblasted
art.
Etch
effect
prints
still
allow
light
through
but
can
be
used
as
privacy
glazing
when the opacity level is more than 70%.
Printed
etch
effect
glass
is
also
highly
scratch
resistant
and
will
not
fade
over
time
as
all
ceramic
ink
after
toughening
is
UV
proof.
Prints
can
also
withstand
a
variety
of
weather
conditions
and are highly resistant to wind erosion and rain over time.
The
traditional
method
of
sandblasting
is
still
available
for
full
coverage
and
privacy
glazing
,
though
it
can
not
be
used
to
create
ornate
designs
to
the
same
level
of
accuracy
as
the
digital
printer.
